It all started back in 2007 during Sarah and Scott's freshman year of college. Scott was visiting friends in Athens when he was first introduced to Sarah outside of her dorm. With that charming smile, he looked right in her eyes, shook her hand firmly and said, "Scott Curtiss. Nice to meet ya." Little did they know that this encounter would lead to a lifelong connection.
By 2009, Sarah had joined Scott's ATL crew, and they spent the next few years hanging out in Athens and Atlanta, taking road trips, going to music festivals, and ringing in the new year in various cities. Over the years, they built a deep friendship and navigated the ups and downs of life together.
Despite living on different sides of the country - Scott in Atlanta and Memphis, and Sarah in Denver - they always found ways to stay connected. Music continued to play a huge role in their relationship, and they met up all over the country to attend concerts in places like San Francisco, New York City, Miami, Las Vegas, LA, and Cancún.
Everything changed in 2020 when Scott and Sarah were invited to a friend's birthday celebration in Moab, Utah. The weekend had many highlights, including Scott learning to "ride the highs", a near-death experience in a side by side, and a breathtaking drive down the canyon along the Green River. But most importantly, Scott finally broke through the friend zone.
For the next 6 months, Sarah & Scott had what they now lovingly call their LDR, or long distance relationship. During that time, Scott spent over 40 days in Denver (and 3 on the hill!). They made many debuts, as even though they'd shared so many experiences before, everything now was brand new.
In May of 2021, they packed up Sarah’s things into a giant U-haul, with her Subaru towed behind it, and headed east. It was a true full circle moment, as when Sarah first moved to Colorado in 2013, Scott joined her for the first half of the journey. They had no idea then that 8 years later she would be leaving Colorado, with Scott, to start their new life together in Atlanta.
On Mother's Day weekend in 2023, Scott and Sarah visited Highlands, North Carolina. On top of Whiteside Mountain, Scott got down on one knee and asked Sarah to marry him. She said yes and the rest is still unwritten!
